Volunteer Sign-up Night - July 10

Become a volunteer with the Truce Sound 400 Festival.

Sign up night - Tuesday, July 10, 7:00 p.m.

It's less than a month away not. It's a big job and we need volunteers. The work needs to be shared around - and no task is too small.  Here's how you can help:

Trail preparation - help clean up Truce Sound Coastal Trail before the Festival begins

Site preparation - help prepare the walking trail, gazebo and Lions Community Centre area  for Festival activities; may include general clean-up, putting up tents and figuring out how to keep birds out of gazebo

Ticket sales at different events

Parking control

Clean up after events - this is important; you can help with one event or several

Artifacts and displays - caretaker, need to ensure artifacts are secure at all times

Skills and crafts - do you have a skill you can demonstrate for visitors? Net making, net mending, knitting, rug hooking, quilting, making splits, making fish, to name a few

What do you get out of it? Lots of fun and satisfaction, a Truce Sound 400 volunteer T-shirt and a wind-up party afterwards.

Can't make it tonight? Call Lisa (557-2003 / 746-6493), Jennifer (472-4506) or Sue (472-4994)

Thanks everybody!

Truce Sound 400 Festival a Success

By all accounts, Truce Sound 400 was a great success!

Dignitaries, sponsors, visitors and residents gathered for brunch on August 7th followed by the opening ceremony and dedication of the Peace Garden. Dignitaries were then treated to a trip out Bull Arm as far as Stock Cove.

Indoor events were all sold out and the outdoor venue turned out to be a great place for the Shanneyganock concert , Saturday night dance, folk and gospel concerts..

Kids from the area enjoyed the reptiles, mummers, pirates, bouncy castles, velcro walls and other activities.

It was a great party for the community.

Thanks to everyone who participated.
